419: The United States Government Issues Advise on 'Grandparent Scams'

A statement on the website of the United States Department of State warns citizens of the existence and nature of so-called 'grandparent scams'. These are elaborate scams where fraudsters pretend to be relatives of elderly Americans who have been imprisoned or stranded in other countries requesting for money to get released or for transportation back home.
